Do you have any holiday traditions that extend all the way back to childhood? How about family recipes? What are they?

Well, we have this Santa hat and an apron that looks like a Santa suit, and every year one of the kids (me or a sibling) dresses up to hand out the presents.

It's rather lame I suppose, but it's my family.

Christmas Eve Shenanigans

So...it's Christmas Eve. A day of planning and executing gifts. For me at least.

So, this morning, as I decided what to give family members, the doorbell rang.

Who could it be? I asked myself. My family, back from the store? PCH lottery?

No...it was Mormon missionaries.

Now, anyone that vaguely knows me knows that I am obsessed with the movie "Latter Days" and it is my second favorite movie, after The Wizard of Oz. Now, when I opened the door to see a couple of pimply boys around my age, my eyes lit up.

Neither of them were Elder Davis...but oh well.

Of course, it is lucky that neither of them was, because I was standing there, unshowered, bra-less, in pjs and a robe. I looked like absolute shit, but it was okay.

They asked for my mom ("She's on the phone"), and asked my age. I'm 15, which I told them.

They handed me a card to order some free DVD, but I was hoping for a pamphlet. That would have made my day even more.

They left, bidding me Merry Christmas. I yelled "STAY WARM" and we separated forever. I shan't ever forget my Mormon experience though.

I'm still on a post-Mormon high.

So...fast-forward to this evening. I, as an "avid" baker (Betty Crocker is my homegirl), concocted some gingerbread cookies from a packaged mix I bought last year. It was expired, but I didn't care.

Okay, they turned out pretty shitty. My brother kept commenting on how misshapen they were, and yet he took a giant hunk out of the leg the second they were out of the oven, but it didn't make it into the picture. The last bit of dough was used to make two ghetto ginger snaps, which were quite delicious.

So yeah, pics under cut.

See my gingerbread bitches! )

I'm hoooome!! And it feels so strangely FANTASTIC!

Whilst over there, I decided in February, I'm gonna go over to London to visit a friend. Got the OK from my parents, and booked my flights. I've only been home 12 hours, and I'm already planning to leave again LOL

Now, I have 14 books about the music industry to read. And I have to sort out postage and payment for my fanclub girls because I brought home a bajillion Tokio Hotel necklaces and Cinema Bizarre t-shirts. So much to do, so little time.

I'm in San Francisco trick!

Having a blast in San Fran! Last night I went to Gaga. Fucking incredible. Martin said he wasn't going to be there, but he SO WAS. Grrrr I wanted to meet him, but I couldn't find him. Eff my life.

My friend who bought the meet and greet gave Gaga a toy kiwi from me, and told her that I'd come all the way from New Zealand to see her, and she said "It's a kiwi bird!! OMG she didn't have to do that, she's the most extraordinary little monster!" (she called me extraordinary *fangirl*)

But after the concert, we found our car was locked in a parking garage. So we called the number, thinking we don't mind paying the $50 charge to get out, because we are shit tired and just want to get home. So we walk over to the sign, and there is a group of other girls who are in the same situation as us. The parking garage refused to come and let get our cars out, despite the fact that we were more than willing to pay the $50. They said "you're going to have to wait until 7am"
HOLY SHIT at this point it was 1.30am. So we called the police, because there was 5 of us girls, scantily clad, all 18 years old, on the side of the fucking street. The cops turned up and said "you're shit out of luck sorry girls" and wouldn't give us a ride anywhere, or unlock the garage. They said we had 2 options. 1- Wait by the garage until 7am, or 2- get in a taxi, go to the Holiday Inn hotel and buy a hotel room for the night.

Needless to say, we spent the night on the street.

But it was such an adventure! Also, fuck the American police force. Cunts.
